A problem for many Android manufacturers is that while reviewers may rate their handsets as the best on the market, the phone-buying public doesn’t always share the same sentiment. Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge may be leading the Android charge at the moment with its stylish looks, expandable storage, curved display and waterproof design, but is this enough for the public to fall in love? What about LG and its backing of the new modular design in the LG G5, which offers a metal build with a removal battery and a dual camera: does it offer enough to persuade consumers to opt for the G5 as their smartphone for the foreseeable future?
To find out just what general consumers – including both Android and iPhone users – think of these flagships, we descended upon the streets of New York City, armed with nothing but the phones, a camera and a microphone. Stopping people at random, we asked them their thoughts on both, the Galaxy S7 Edge and the LG G5, and whether they would buy them.
What did they think of the unique designs and features and would they buy either device? What about Apple’s iPhone users: would they switch over to either of these two devices? It’s time to find out – join us below as members of the general public share their reactions to two of the best smartphones on the market.
What can we take away from these reactions? First things first, there’s no denying that the curved design of the Galaxy S7 Edge’s display is striking to all smartphone users.
