There are so many ways Excel can reduce your work and give you more time for the things you actually enjoy doing. In my own work billing fertilizer, I cut the time spent on repetitive calculations down to the time it takes to enter the base numbers into the spreadsheet and copy the answers into our billing system. The calculations are already in place, so the math takes care of itself.

- Reports you rebuild every week or month from the same raw numbers.
Not Everything Can Be Automated
Of course, not every problem in life and work can be expressed mathematically, so not everything can be automated. But it is worth taking a look at your daily tasks to see which ones can be simplified. Often the biggest wins come from the boring jobs nobody thinks to question.
